Interface To Use Fish Waste for Energy in Europe

Scherpenzeel, The Netherlands, Dec. 10, 2013 — Interface said it will switch to using 100% sustainable gas at its manufacturing plant in Scherpenzeel beginning the first of the year.

The carpet tile manufacturer has signed a contract for sustainable energy supplier Eneco to supply gas produced using certified ‘green’ waste from the food industry, provided by fish processor A. van de Groep.

As a result of this contract, Interface will receive all of its gas via Eneco, equivalent to the amount of gas used by 750 households annually.
