New Home Sales Tick Up in September

Washington, DC, Oct. 24, 2014 — New-home sales rose 0.2% in September from the prior month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 467,000, the Commerce Department said.

Sales were up 15.3% in August to a 466,000 pace, revised down from an initial estimate of 504,000. Sales in July and June also were revised down.

The September sales rate was still the strongest since July 2008.
