Surya Raising Money to Feed Indian Children through Miles for Meals

White, GA, October 3, 2016—Yesterday, more than 40 Surya employees and family members ran the fifth annual Miles for Meals half marathon to raise funds for Akshaya Patra’s Unlimited Food for Education.

Through Akshaya Patra’s award-winning school lunch program, thousands of children living in Surya’s Indian community of 50,000+ weavers will receive access to daily, hot nutritious meals.

It costs just $15 (or the average cost of a meal at your favorite restaurant) to feed one child for an entire year. To support Surya’s efforts, contributors can make a tax-deductible donation to the 2016 Miles for Meal campaign at www.razoo.com/us/story/Surya-Miles-For-Meals-Campaign-2016.

The company has a fundraising goal of $75,000 to feed 5,000 children for the coming year.
