Surya Partners With Decorator Candice Olson

Calhoun, GA, Oct. 6, 2008--Area rug manufacturer Surya has partnered with HGTV celebrity decorator Candice Olson to create a new collection of area rugs set to début later this month at the High Point market, according to the Calhoun Times.

Olson will be at Surya’s High Point showroom Oct. 21 to meet customers.

The program encompasses 18 designs that were made to reflect Olson’s sophisticated contemporary style, as seen on her “Divine Design” program. The rugs are hand-tufted of 100 percent New Zealand wool and feature viscose highlights.

Olson has recently built up her branded home goods product line with several licensees, including Venus Home for bath coordinates and JLA Home for bedding as well as other manufacturers/suppliers for upholstered furniture, wall coverings, lighting, case goods and occasional furniture pieces.

The area rugs category was one of her first product category launches, which debuted last year via a partnership with Brooklyn-based Hellenic Rug Imports. Effective this month, Surya replaces Hellenic as Olson’s area rug licensee.
