Resilient Maker LG Endorses INSTALL

Englewood Cliffs, NJ, July 27, 2009--Resilient flooring maker LG Hausys Floors, has announced its full support for the International Standards & Training Alliance (INSTALL) branch of Floorcovering Professionals.

LG said it will reference the INSTALL program in all installation guidelines for its sustainable resilient flooring products, joining a growing list of top flooring manufacturers recommending the comprehensive training program for North American contractors.

The INSTALL program for residential, commercial and institutional floor covering installers is a four-year, hands-on and classroom training regimen focused on resilient, ceramic, stone, hardwood, carpet, laminate, artificial turf and sports surfaces.

“LG Hausys Floors fully supports the INSTALL program,” said David Thoresen, executive vice president. “Finally an organization that embraces what is needed the most: Comprehensive training for installers hoping to make a career in an industry that is running short on highly trained professionals."

The INSTALL program is guided by a 12-member International Labor Management Committee for the floor covering industry. Labor representatives are members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
