J.J. Haines Buys Florida Distributor

Baltimore, MD, August 14, 2007--J. J. Haines & Company Inc. has acquired Wheeler Inc., an Orlando, Florida-based full-line floor covering distributor. With sales of approximately $45-50 million and over 70 employees, Wheeler is a leading distributor in Florida.

Founded in 1874, J.J. Haines & Company, Inc. is a privately held distributor of floor coverings and related products into both the residential and commercial markets from Pennsylvania through South Carolina. Haines also provides logistics services to The Home Depot and Lowes.

Excluding Wheeler, Haines has approximately $350 million in gross shipping volume, over 400 employees, and services its customers via six distribution centers with total warehousing space of 400,000 square feet

The acquisition of Wheeler gives Haines access to the Florida market.
