COI's Piazza Ceramica to Return To Coverings
New York, NY, March 13, 2013--The Ceramics of Italy pavilion "Piazza Ceramica" will once again return to Coverings 2013 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia from April 29 to May 2.
Designed by e+i studio, who was selected for the project through a competition organized by Confindustria Ceramica (the Italian Association of Ceramics) in collaboration with Architizer, the pavilion is inspired by the classical Italian piazza and features tile-clad steps that lift at the corners to reveal the ever-popular café, coffee bar, and information booth.
The pavilion features ceramic tiles from Atlas Concorde, Caesar Ceramiche, Ceramiche Lea, Emil Ceramica, Fioranese, Floor Gres, and Marazzi and will have an updated design that will add digital info and interaction points.
At 3,000-square-feet, the Piazza Ceramica will serve as Ceramics of Italy's central stand and industry event space—it includes an authentic Italian trattoria catered by Spuntino, and there's never a shortage of cappuccino—surrounded by nearly 50 exhibits from Ceramics of Italy member manufacturers showcasing their stylish and sustainable new tile collections.
